Since the second half of the 20th century, artificial intelligence (AI) has been the horizon for technological development. With AI, we no longer distinguish science from fiction, the promise of fear. The human being wants to be freed by the AI and fears being replaced by it. For several years now, the artist has been exploring the artificial imagination, that is, the machine’s ability to produce ever more images, sounds and texts from the data accumulated on the Web. Does the artificial imagination push the human limits of art?

L’intelligence artificielle (IA) constitue depuis la seconde moitié du XXe siècle l’horizon du développement technologique. Avec l’IA, on ne distingue plus la science de la fiction, la promesse de la peur. L’être humain désire être libéré par l’IA et craint d’être remplacé par elle. Depuis quelques années, l’artiste explore l’imagination artificielle, c’est-à-dire la capacité de la machine a produire toujours plus d’images, de sons et de textes à partir des données accumulées sur le Web. L’imagination artificielle repousse-t-elle les limites humaines de l’art?
