The Dream of Stonesis an installation about mineral metamorphosis. Starting with the mineral erosion at Alula and the signs inscribed on the stone, we consider the continuity between natural and cultural or technical work, as if the shapes and deformations of the stone were hallucinated by human beings and produced a “continuation”: the hand traces signs to complete the work of nature.
The machine generates images and videos inspired by photographs taken by the artist in AlUla or from local archives, and interprets them, creating a retroactive loop. The AI’s statistical hallucination is another step in this metamorphosis and the creation of another reality.
A book on the project has been published.
A series of 1,000 unique, numbered postcards depicting AlUla landscapes hallucinated by AI.
Le rêve des pierres est une installation sur la métamorphose minérale. Partant de l’érosion minérale à Alula et des signes inscrits sur la pierre, on considère la continuité entre le travail naturel et culturel ou technique, comme si les formes et déformations de la pierre étaient hallucinés par les êtres humains et produisaient une “poursuite” : la main trace des signes pour compléter le travail de la nature.
La machine génère des images et des vidéos inspirées par des photographies prises par l’artiste à AlUla ou provenant des fonds d’archives locaux, et les interprète créant une boucle rétroactive. L’hallucination statistique de l’IA est une autre étape de cette métamorphose et de la création d’une autre réalité.
Un livre sur le projet a été publié.
Une série de 1 000 cartes postales uniques et numérotées représentant des paysages d’AlUla hallucinés par l’IA.
