Defragmentation I

We were in Dieppe by chance, walking under the sun towards the cliff of Braquemont. We were following a long path between the rocks and the forest. On one side the ocean and on the other the bocage. We got los looking for a way down, eating blackberries. Then we went back up to a wheat field that had been cut down and was littered with stones and rubble. There we picked up a small piece of blue earthenware that I put in my pocket. Back at the workshop I wanted to complete this fragment found thanks to an artificial intelligence. I added to the right, to the left, to the top and to the bottom images generated after the original fragment to create the landscape of something that is missing. Thus this small piece of earthenware forgotten in a field of the Seine Maritime becomes the occasion of another history and a new landscape.

Nous étions à Dieppe un peu par hasard, marchant sous le soleil vers la falaise du Braquemont. Nous suivions un long chemin entre les rochers et la forêt. D’un côté l’océan et de l’autre le bocage. Nous nous sommes perdus cherchant à descendre, mangeant des mûres. Puis nous sommes remontés vers un champ de blé qui avait été coupé et qui était jonché de pierre et de gravats. Nous avons ramassé là un petit morceau de faïence bleu que j’ai mis dans ma poche. Revenu à l’atelier j’ai souhaité compléter ce fragment trouvé grâce à une intelligence artificielle. J’ai ajouté à droite, à gauche, en haut et en bas des images générées à la suite du fragment original pour créer le paysage de quelque chose qui fait défaut. Ainsi ce petit morceau de faïence oublié dans un champ de la Seine Maritime devient l’occasion d’une autre histoire et d’un nouveau paysage.
