Cette installation se compose de deux cabines téléphoniques blanches et opaques disposées face à face, créant un espace d’intimité isolé au sein de l’environnement d’exposition. Le dispositif invite le visiteur à une expérience d’écoute singulière.
En décrochant le combiné de l’une des cabines, le spectateur entend une voix féminine synthétique, tandis que dans l’autre cabine résonne une voix masculine artificielle. Ces voix générées par ordinateur récitent en continu des expressions de sentiments collectées automatiquement sur Internet.
Les textes, extraits de blogs, forums et réseaux sociaux, constituent un flux ininterrompu d’émotions anonymes qui circulent sur le Web. Décontextualisés de leur source originale et énoncés par des voix de synthèse, ces fragments affectifs créent une tension entre l’intime et le technologique.
L’œuvre interroge la façon dont les technologies de communication contemporaines transforment l’expression des émotions humaines. En utilisant la cabine téléphonique, objet aujourd’hui quasi obsolète, comme interface d’accès à des contenus numériques, l’installation propose une réflexion sur l’évolution des modes de transmission de l’intime et sur la circulation des affects dans l’espace virtuel.
This installation consists of two white, opaque telephone booths placed opposite each other, creating an isolated, intimate space within the exhibition environment. The installation invites visitors to enjoy a unique listening experience.
When picking up the receiver in one of the booths, the viewer hears a synthetic female voice, while in the other booth an artificial male voice can be heard. These computer-generated voices continuously recite expressions of feelings automatically collected from the Internet.
The texts, taken from blogs, forums, and social networks, constitute an uninterrupted flow of anonymous emotions circulating on the web. Decontextualized from their original source and spoken by synthetic voices, these emotional fragments create a tension between the intimate and the technological.
The work questions how contemporary communication technologies are transforming the expression of human emotions. By using the telephone booth, now a virtually obsolete object, as an interface for accessing digital content, the installation offers a reflection on the evolution of modes of transmission of intimacy and the circulation of emotions in virtual space.
