Un site classe les œuvres d’art les plus connues. Elles sont presque exclusivement occidentales. Grâce à NeuralStoryTeller, un logiciel capable d’automatiquement décrire des images, on génère des textes. Ceux-ci sont ensuite donnés à un autre logiciel, Zoetrope qui génère grâce à ces instructions une image. Le contact entre l’image d’origine et l’image générée est indirect en passant par un texte. Une étrange ressemblance se tisse entre le souvenir que nous avons du chef-d’œuvre et l’image créée par une intelligence artificielle, jouant de notre culture, du patrimoine commun de l’humanité et de la manière dont certaines œuvres sont institutionnalisées et inventent une valeur.

A site ranks the most famous works of art. They are almost exclusively western. Thanks to NeuralStoryTeller, a software able to automatically describe images, texts are generated. These are then given to another software, Zoetrope, which generates an image thanks to these instructions. The contact between the original image and the generated image is indirect by passing through a text. A strange resemblance is woven between the memory we have of the masterpiece and the image created by an artificial intelligence, playing with our culture, the common heritage of humanity and the way some works are institutionalized and invent a value.
