Enfold – Book

Ce livre, en édition limitée, reprend la logique d’Enfold : à partir d’une peinture murale trouvée dans la vieille ville d’AlUla, l’image est fournie à une IA qui va en produire des versions alternatives en série potentiellement infinie. La tradition n’est plus la répétition de la même figure mais contient la possibilité d’une variation.

Le résultat, à la limite de l’abstraction, est décrite par une autre IA de façon poétique, créant une relation de dissonance entre l’image et le texte.

L’ouvrage peut se lire comme une tentative de créer une autre tradition, s’inspirant du passé pour le faire varier à l’infini, la forme de l’arbre n’étant plus représentée par une seule image mais par la traînée entre toutes les images possibles.

This limited edition book follows the logic of Enfold: starting with a mural found in the old town of AlUla, the image is fed into an AI that produces a potentially infinite series of alternative versions. Tradition is no longer the repetition of the same figure but contains the possibility of variation.

The result, bordering on abstraction, is described poetically by another AI, creating a dissonance between the image and the text.

The work can be read as an attempt to create another tradition, drawing inspiration from the past to vary it infinitely, with the shape of the tree no longer represented by a single image but by the trail between all possible images.
