L’augmentation des villes – Aubervilliers, FR

Our reality is woven of digital. In every place, at every moment we consult our messaging and social networks. We wait for something to happen and we see our fingers scrolling through messages we barely read. Both everywhere and nowhere, digital fragments our attention.

The designer-object Goliath Dyèvre and the artist Grégory Chatonsky propose, after a residency at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand, in Taluen in the Amazon and an exhibition at the Centre Pompidou, “L’augmentation des villes” an installation, the fruit of their dialogue with ICADE. Rather than letting digital float in a hypothetical cloud, the duo has created material sculptures that await the digital. Using the technology of augmented reality, they invite us to a reversal of our apprehension of the relationship between reality and digital by producing gaps and lacunae in the former.

This reality that lacks something could become a place of sharing in a building hall of a form that complements itself, or come to amplify a building site of a child’s play, or on this same building site allow to visualize a construction to come, leaving to everyone the possibility to leave a message to participate in the increase of the cities.
