I Just Don’t Know What to Do with Myself is a series of devices on fingerprints. The fingerprint is an image that each of us carries on us. This is all about diverting its common use, the identification, and coming up with an unpredictable transformation. An interactive installation enables the visitor to scan his fingerprint and to see its image evolve in time. The fingerprints drift and break like icebergs on an ocean limited by the screen. Acrylic laser engravings reflect shadows of a fingerprint on the walls, almost invisible on the material engraving surface.

I Just Don’t Know What to Do with Myself est une série de dispositifs sur l’empreinte digitale. L’empreinte est une image que chacun d’entre nous porte sur lui-même. Il s’agit de détourner son usage courant, l’identification, et d’en faire l’origine d’une transformation imprévisible. Une installation interactive permet au visiteur de scanner son empreinte digitale et de voir l’image de celle-ci évoluer au cours du temps. Les empreintes dérivent et se brisent telles des icebergs sur un océan limité à l’écran. Des gravures sur acrylique réalisées au laser réfléchissent sur le mur, l’ombre d’une empreinte qui est presque invisible sur la surface matérielle d’inscription.
