Cette série explore les potentialités esthétiques et conceptuelles de l’empreinte digitale, image singulière que chaque individu porte en soi. L’œuvre détourne l’usage identificatoire conventionnel de cette marque corporelle pour en faire le point de départ d’une transformation visuelle autonome.

Un dispositif interactif permet aux visiteurs de numériser leur empreinte digitale, qui apparaît ensuite sur un écran où elle évolue dans le temps. Les empreintes se métamorphosent et se fragmentent, évoquant des icebergs dérivant sur une étendue océanique limitée par le cadre de l’écran.

L’œuvre questionne ainsi les systèmes contemporains d’identification biométrique tout en proposant une réappropriation poétique de ces signes identitaires.

This series explores the aesthetic and conceptual potentialities of the fingerprint, a singular image that every individual carries within themselves. The work subverts the conventional identification use of this bodily mark to make it the starting point for an autonomous visual transformation.

An interactive device allows visitors to scan their fingerprints, which then appear on a screen where they evolve over time. The prints metamorphose and fragment, evoking icebergs drifting across an oceanic expanse limited by the frame of the screen.

The work thus questions contemporary systems of biometric identification while offering a poetic reappropriation of these signs of identity.
