Cette œuvre présente un système génératif qui crée en continu des biographies de personnages fictifs, automatiquement illustrées par des photographies extraites de Flickr selon des mots-clés spécifiques. L’algorithme établit des relations entre ces personnages imaginaires, créant des réseaux d’amitiés et de liens familiaux qui se déploient indéfiniment.

Le dispositif interroge la façon dont les traces numériques de nos existences, disséminées sur Internet, peuvent être réappropriées pour constituer une mémoire visuelle alternative. Les personnages générés forment une communauté fictive qui se nourrit des fragments de vies réelles partagés en ligne.

Cette œuvre s’inscrit dans une réflexion sur les frontières entre réalité et fiction à l’ère numérique, ainsi que sur les processus de construction identitaire et mémorielle dans les espaces virtuels. En recyclant des images préexistantes, l’installation questionne également les notions d’authenticité, d’appropriation et de vie sociale artificielle.

This work presents a generative system that continuously creates biographies of fictional characters, automatically illustrated by photographs extracted from Flickr according to specific keywords. The algorithm establishes relationships between these imaginary characters, creating networks of friendships and family ties that unfold indefinitely.

The device questions how the digital traces of our lives, scattered across the Internet, can be reappropriated to constitute an alternative visual memory. The generated characters form a fictional community that feeds on fragments of real lives shared online.

This work is part of a reflection on the boundaries between reality and fiction in the digital age, as well as on the processes of identity and memory construction in virtual spaces. By recycling pre-existing images, the installation also questions notions of authenticity, appropriation, and artificial social life.
