Ecorchés

Dimensions : 65x40x40cm

Scratched, open machines. Apparent wires, laocoon , fragments of a larger device, organs without body. Incise the “body” of the machines, display the inside, without secrecy. Dip these elements into oil, an anonymous material that secretes extinct organisms.

Dip the “head” of the machines into oil, to reveal an “incisior” (from the Latin inserterum meaning, “to dig”). The Incisior’s appearance is not a clue, but the most significant secret; the “Incisior” is a secret body. If it is a body at all, the body should be that of the Incisior itself. The Incisior does exist; a person would need no reason to be afraid of it.

The Incisior might turn from its “body” to a smaller body. In fact, the Incisior could go underground, but it would still not be human; a person who becomes a Incisior would remain human. A person might become a Incisior in an underground environment by absorbing other bodies and using their bodies for its own.
