The world report capte les informations de CNN et les illustre en traduisant automatiquement certains mots en image par Google. L’association entre le texte et l’image se fait donc programmatiquement et de façon littérale, produisant des écarts sémantiques, des rencontres imprévues, déjouant la relation de représentation que la télévision noue habitellement. Le choix des mots à traduire s’effecture seulement sur un critère de succession : une fois qu’une image a été chargée, c’est le mot à l’écran qui est traduit, peu importe sa signification.
The world report captures information from CNN and illustrates it by automatically translating some words into images using Google. The text-image association is thus programmed and literal, and generates semantic breaches, unexpected encounters, by simply reversing the representation usually given by the television. The words to translate are chosen according to the criterion of succession: once an image is loaded, the corresponding word on the screen is translated, regardless of its meaning.
